Erroneous Shadow with Eevee and Sun Lamp and Material with Shadow Mode None #119591

System Information
Operating system: macOS-13.6.3-arm64-arm-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: Metal API Apple M2 Ultra 1.2

Blender Version
Broken: version: 4.0.2, branch: blender-v4.0-release, commit date: 2023-12-05 07:41, hash: 9be62e85b727
Worked: Not sure this ever worked.
Note: I've also tested this on 4.1 and it happens there, too.

Short description of error
When sun lamp and object casting shadow on another with Shadow Mode None in material settings, an erroneous shadow appears on the other object which depends on how far away the furthest shadow-casting object is from the sun lamp.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Here's an attached video. What to notice: first I show the weird shadow will disappear or appear depending on the cube being moved on the Y axis (away from the sun lamp). Then I add another cube into the scene, and move it around. Whichever cube is furthest from the sun lamp determines how big the erroneous shadow shall be. I'll attach also the .blend.

You need to switch the left viewport into rendered mode to see it in action.

This does not happen with Cycles, only Eevee.

Can't reproduce on Linux, will check on Mac. Could be Arm specific as well.

Able to reproduce in both EEVEE and EEVEE Next, which is odd as they both use separate shadow techniques.
Will investigate what is going on, imagine its possibly an issue with precision and that particular mesh for some reason.
