Operating system: Win 10
Graphics card: Nvidia GT 710

Blender Version
Broken: blender-4.1.0-windows-x64.msi
Worked: blender -4.0.2

blender-4.1.0-windows-x64.msi causes windows defender alert and if bypassed the install ends saying : installation aborted, try later.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

blender 4.0 works fine, no problem . blender 4.1 install aborted....

A friend of mine has the same issue on Win 11. No problems with other versions' installers, 4.1 just quits without any notification.

can't repro this, but if either of you is handy with the command prompt, can you try

msiexec /l* blender.log /i blender-4.1.0-windows-x64.msi

and attaching the resulting blender.log here?

Thanks to you all. there is no more bugs... the win defender smart screen said " stitchin blender foundation" i was afraid it was a fake.

i made a restore point before trying again and then i saw that when the installer proposes a location to install , by default , it was written " this install needs 0kb on your disk " so i had to choose manually for each feature ( blender an libraries) to intall then on the disk.
and then everything worked fine .
