System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19045-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.6.0 NVIDIA 546.17

Blender Version
Broken: version: 4.2.0 Alpha, branch: main, commit date: 2024-03-25 13:58, hash: 6b5a97170c4c
Worked: -

Short description of error
If you select and delete multiple files from the Blender File Browser, upon choosing 'Delete' on the Blender delete dialogue box, multiple OS delete file dialogue boxes will open one after the other to delete each file individually (at least, on Windows).

The normal way of doing this (on Windows) is to present a single dialogue box to delete them all at once.

This may not be considered a bug, but it is unusual behaviour compared to how other programs work and very laborious if you've selected a portion of an image sequence to delete.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Make sure that in your Windows settings, you have the "Display delete confirmation dialogue" option checked. (Right click the Recycle Bin then select properties)
  • Create a folder on your computer with multiple files in it.
  • Open a File Browser editor or go to File> Open and navigate to that folder.
  • Select all the files in the folder.
  • Press the delete key on the keyboard.
  • Choose 'Delete' on the Blender dialogue box that opens.

It seems like the OS API might be better used in this case.
