Short description of error
No compatible GPUs found for Cycles
Requires AMD GPU with Vega or RDNA architecture
and AMD driver version 22.10 or newer
I tried updating the gpu drivers from https://www.amd.com/en/support/linux-drivers (of course with a reboot). Didn't change a thing.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Installed it from website and apt

sudo apt install blender

Broken: 3.6.2 (apt) and 4.1(website downlowd)

The only version of Blender officially supported by the Blender foundation is the one provided by the Blender foundation. So for all future testing, please use the version of Blender from the Blender foundation website.

Did you make sure to install the ROCm version of the driver? And did you make sure the installation concluded without issues?

To use HIP on your GPU, you need to install ROCm/HIP runtime. Please follow these instructions on AMDs website to do so:

or install the ROCm version of the driver following the steps on: https://www.amd.com/en/support/linux-drivers
