Short description of error
If you try to build an undistorted proxy in a custom directory, Blender works for a while but produces no output.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Blender shows a progress bar but produces no output. Logging its file accesses with Process Monitor shows that it's trying to create .jpgs in a subdirectory that doesn't exist.
As an aside, I noticed that building an Original proxy creates an .avi file, but building an Undistorted proxy (without a custom folder) creates a series of .jpgs. Is this intentional? If it's an unintended inconsistency, I can create a separate ticket.
I can't confirm that. I can see new sub folder and frame sequence.
Seems like it specifically happens when setting the Proxy Custom Directory to the folder containing the source file.
I can not reproduce this issue. It creates bunch of jpegs in custom_dir/vid_name/proxy_x_undistorted/. I am not sure if undistorted proxies do need some tracking data being in place. Just in case they do I added some. @Matthew-Hinson Did you do that?
In regards to why jpegs - it's because it needs to do some processing on the images and proxy building engine is not built to do that right now. It can be done with not that much effort, but it just isn't.
As above, it specifically happens when the custom directory is set to the folder containing the movie
or in other words, when you might as well turn the custom directory off. It works if I use some other folder.Adding a marker and tracking it for a few frames doesn't make a difference.
Ah, thanks for (re)clarification. In that case, that this is, because it tries to create folder say
c_dir/1234.mp4/
, but there already isc_dir/1234.mp4
- the video itself. I think there was such report already, but I wouldn't find it.I guess this could produce error message, but this is not a bug, so will close the report.
