Short description of error
OpenEXR MultiLayer does not save renderd frames when switching from other File Format

I’m in a process of rendering a VR project. Previously I was using PNG as my File Format.
I wanted more control (extra render passes) and better compression so I switched File Format to OpenEXR MultiLayer. In the Views section it was looking like I had still selected Stereo 3D option, while it should be Multiview.
There was no errors during rendering, just empty output directory. Saving and reopening file does not fix the problem.

PNG render settings:

File Format switched to OpenEXR MultiLayer (the error):

How it should be:

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Open blender
  2. Go to output tab
  3. Select Stereoscopy option
  4. Go to Output section
  5. Set up render path
  6. Select PNG as File Format
  7. Open Views section in Output section
  8. Select stereo 3D option, Stereo Mode: Side-by-Side
  9. Change File Format to OpenEXR MultiLayer
  10. Notice no View Format is selected
  11. Render frame / frames
  12. No files in output folder

Can confirm. This is because EXR Multilayer does not support Stereo 3d and will always write individually or in multi-view.
