Short description of error
When adding a mesh (Shift + A) and changing the parameters, there is lag in the viewport. This does not happen when the mesh is already added.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Have a scene with more than 500,000 tris (this is when it becomes noticeable on my PC). If you add even more geometry this will become really easy to see.
  2. Press Shift + A, then create a cube or other type of geometry
  3. In the "Add cube" window, change any parameter, like location, rotation, or size.
  4. Now, perform the same operations without using that window (e.g., press 'S' for scale and move the mouse for scaling).
  5. You will realize that, for some reason, in the first method, the viewport lags.

If I have a animation playing, I can confirm that the animation restarts to the start when you interact with the redo panel as is demonstrated in the attached video. And if the scene is really heavy, it does lag when you interact with the redo panel. And as noted, this does not happen if you use normal methods for changing these parameters. I will mark as confirmed.


I also removed the audio from the video you uploaded. The audio was just music, and I didn't know if it was protected under copywrite, so just to be safe I removed it. In the future if you are uploading files, please try to avoid any copywritten material, or material that is likely to be copywritten.

I can confirm that the animation restarts to the start when you interact with the redo panel as is demonstrated in the attached video

Hi, this is expected for global/memfile undo system. When we add cube in object mode, memfile undo step saves snapshot of current file (that also includes scene->cfra).
If we edit something from redo panel, undo system jumps to previous step and redoes the "add cube" operation with new parameter. Because we jump to the snapshot/undostep prior of adding cube, current frame resets to its previous value.
