System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.6.0 NVIDIA 552.22

Blender Version
Broken: version: 4.2.0 Alpha, branch: main, commit date: 2024-04-23 21:08, hash: ce768d43a121
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
A scene created ten days ago using Blender 4.2 Daily Edition is now not rendering, prompting the following message:
OPTIX_ERROR_INVALID_VALUE in optixPipelineSetStackSize( pipelines[PIP_SHADE], 0, dss, css, pipeline_options.usesMotionBlur ? 3 : 2) (C:\Users\blender\git\blender-vdev\blender.git\intern\cycles\device\optix\device_impl.cpp:993)
The same file, Blender 4.1 works fine.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • have a material with noise texture in the scene
  • enable Open Shading Language on the render tab
  • use GPU Compute with an Optix device

@LukasStockner Looking at this in latest main, I noticed that thin film support is missing for OSL?

WARNING: attempting to set nonexistent parameter: ThinFilmThickness
WARNING: attempting to set nonexistent parameter: ThinFilmIOR
OPTIX_ERROR_PIPELINE_LINK_ERROR in optixPipelineCreate(context, &pipeline_options, &link_options, pipeline_groups.data(), pipeline_groups.size(), nullptr, 0, &pipelines[PIP_SHADE]) (intern/cycles/device/optix/device_impl.cpp:983)

Though the reported bug already happened earlier, I'm bisecting that further.

The thin film issue was reported in #122031, so it can handled further there.
