Short description of error
Download times for extensions platform are unbelievably slow.
Not sure what other information to provide.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open Blender 4.2 alpha with factory settings.
Install an addon.

It may very well depend on the routing of your ISP. It may be possible that the server of blender is behind a firewall. In China we typically use a VPN when this kind of thing happens.

@ChengduLittleA I can download a 300MB build from the blender website in half the time it takes for the extension platform to download a 5kb addon. Seems more like an extensions platform issue

Might be useful info: Here on projects.blender.org site, attachments downloads quite slowly (including videos and images), sometimes >1min for like a few megabytes of stuff (sometimes the speed is normal). I can download extensions quite quickly, so I'm not sure if there's some setup affecting how those files are served
