mesh boundary incorrectly calculates edges in sculpt mode with multiresolution modifier

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Use any surface. Add a multiresolution modifier and enable mesh boundary. Where the original model has edges, sculpting doesn't work.

Reported behavior seems to exist in 2.93, 3.3 LTS, 3.6 LTS, but behaves as expected in 2.8
