Blender Version
Broken: (Blender 4.2 )
Worked: (All of them just crashed and never restarted after a the first and second crash)
I will be working and for no for perceived reason, blender just crashes, it could be me using anything and moving an object, or saving a file. It could be anything, and blender crashes and won't turn back on until I restart the computer. At first I thought it was because I was using the portable version, then I installed the program version and it still crashes. I can't tell which addon could possibly be creating this. Sometimes if I hold ctrl+shift+win+B buttons to clear videoram cache it works but more often than not it doesn't work. I can't even see if it's hanging in the taskmanager, cause it's not there. I once used CMD to have blender run to see what caused it to crash, and stay open, but when it crashed it left no information, it just crashed and cmd showed literally nothing.
Honestly there is no steps that can be taken to reproduce this error. I simply don't know why blender will only work after a restart of windows. I attached the sys info for you to review.
Hi there, a
blender.crash.txt
might be useful. Also, try starting blender withblender_debug_gpu.cmd
andblender_debug_gpu_workaround.cmd
and upload the log they spit out.Blender crash and refuse to start again sounds like a graphics driver issue, it happened on me with linux and windows as well previously, it could be the system auto update breaking things.
Driver 536.99 is not latest. You can download 560.* driver from nvidia and try again.
No activity for more than a week. As per the tracker policy we assume the issue is gone and can be closed.
