%%%most if not all interface icons fail to load, displaying a white box where there should be an icon in the interface. this problem does not ocour on all computers, but does effect mine. I use windows 7 with a celeron processor and an integrated graphics card.(yes i am well aware my hardware is low end) the previous stable release of blender(2.49) never experienced this problem. if there is anything that can be done to fix this please let me know. blender is just about unusable in this state. I do have ubuntu linux installed on another partition and will post an update next time i boot into it.%%%

%%%This sounds like a graphics card/driver problem.

Please add all your full system information to this report, as
mentioned in the bug reporting guidelines, such as OS, gfx card,
driver version, etc.

Try updating your drivers to the latest version, and also try
changing the Window Draw Method in User Preferences->System to
the other options.

Screenshots/videos would also help here.%%%

%%%Yep, this is driver related. Others with similar windows7 and Intel graphics don't have it even. Experiment a bit with all settings you can find? Or try to resize window, open full screen, etc.

The code for drawing icons in Blender didn't change really...
(Moving to opengl tracker, but replies to this report will be monitored and tracked :)%%%

%%%well this is just great, for some reason, user settings crashes blender. i think i'll just wait until 2.58 is released. until then, back to 2.49 for me. also, there is no 2.57 download in the ubuntu software centre at the moment so i can't test it there.%%%

%%%If you check on other reports here in this tracker, there's several people with Intel on-board graphics reporting problems.
In the 2.57 release, a couple of important fixes were done for it, which have been verified to work well. However, you need to ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics system.%%%
