Cannot enter decimal point when scaling #28293

%%%I'm using Blender 2.59 on OS X Lion, with Belgian keyboard.

Select object and scale (S). Then try to type in a number with a decimal point (e.g., "1.25") to scale to a specific value. On my Belgian keyboard, this is simply not possible.

(Note 1: on a Belgian keyboard, a comma (,) is obtained by tapping the key to the right of the "N" key, while a dot (.) is obtained by holding down SHIFT and tapping the key that is two keys to the right of the "N" key. I suspect that the fact that you need to hold down the SHIFT key in order to obtain a dot, may have something to do with the bug. Switching to a US keyboard resolves the issue immediately.)

(Note 2: no problem to enter the decimal point in other input fields in Blender -- the issue seems limited to typing in numbers during an operation such as Scale.)%%%

%%%It's an ancient issue... for some reason most people who are coding & supporting Blender are using US keyboards... this is a todo item already for ages.
Added your report as well:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.5/Source/Development/Todo/UserInterface#Support_Keyboard_layouts

Note that we can only support this well if developers with non-US keyboards tackle it. :)%%%

I'm hitting the exact same bug on 2.69 running on OS X 10.9.1 using a french keymap. Turns out it works just fine on a desktop setup using virtually the same config (same Blender version, same OS X version, french keymap as well).

But on a laptop (MacBook Pro), I cannot enter the decimal point when scaling. Which is super weird since I can type a dot anywhere else in blender!

This issue was actually fixed two days ago in {87cc890aef53c4660448b1125dc0c40a187ae1f2}. If you get the latest build from here it should work:

Indeed. Wow, that was quick! Thanks a lot for the fix then, and congrats on the über-fast reply :-)
