%%%--- Operating System, Graphics card ---
Win7 64bit; integrated graphics with an intel core 2 duo

- Blender version with error, and version that worked ---

2.66--32 and 64bit both have this problem
I have never had this problem before.

- Short description of error ---

As seen in the picture, all of the icons (in the outliner, splash screen, properties window, etc.) are blurry.

- Steps for others to reproduce the error (preferably based on attached .blend file) ---

%%%Icons in 2.66 are double the resolution now, and being drawn using regular and common opengl MipMap code.

This has been working everywhere fine sofar, it's the first time I see this. I can only conclude it's a driver bug, did you check if there are updates?
Also check gfx driver settings (if there are any). You probably should also see issues with drawing textures in blender elsewhere.

It is of course possible that we use just that one feature of opengl which is not supported for onboard intel cards... but we should get many other reports in then. Every release 100s of thousands of windows users load it!

I'll keep an eye at this if more people have it. meanwhile just try to find the solution locally?%%%

%%%"opengl MipMap code" -- that might be the problem: if you turn down quality settings in intel hd driver, mipmapped images may show blurry. I once used a low quality setting for better CPU gfx performance for Call of Duty 4, but it made the in-game font completely unreadable. Looks like a really tiny mipmap gets used and upscaled. Maybe give an option to disable mipmapping for icons?%%%

%%%We will check on how this case evolves. Such errors in drivers should not lead too easily to hacking blender with more options even. To me it seems like something intel should (will) fix soon?%%%

%%%I went into my Intel Graphics Control Panel and adjusted some settings. I turned my textures up to the quality preset and now everything works fine in Blender. I just reinstalled 2.66. Thank you for your help!%%%

%%%I just right-clicked my desktop and selected "Graphics Properties" from the contextual menu. That opens up the Intel Control Panel. Under 3D Settings, turn the Preset to Quality (I had it on Performance before). You can also adjust the custom settings, and the important ones for this are Texture Quality and/or Mipmapping (I don't know what will show up for you). You should be good to go!%%%

%%%@Ton: Since you can adjust quality in intel driver settings, I bet they won't consider this a bug and provide a fix for blurry image fonts / small images... Maybe if they checked the image size and used larger mipmap if it's a really small image, it might solve such problems even in performance mode, but what are the odds intel will care about?%%%

We've seen many glitches in the past for Intel graphics, for ATI and Nvidia as well. If a feature keeps not working for users, we can check on bypasses. For as now, I think it's a real bug and probably will be fixed by Intel soon. Especially when games have similar errors!%%%

%%%I also had the same problem when Blender 2.66 was released. I checked with google to see if anyone had the same issue but google came up empty, and i soon gave up on 2.66. Thanks to this forum, I can finally use 2.66. Thanks a lot.%%%

%%%Thanks for the feedback!
Help us and post here when intel has new drivers that fix this. If it affects a lot of people (and Intel doesn't fix soon) we could look into a bypass in blender.%%%

%%%I was using blender 2.65 previously, however, once i updated to 2.67a this problem started showing up. I run switchable graphics and use blender with radeon 6470m (1gb) and put all the settings to quality, but to no avail.%%%

%%%Did you change the settings for the iGPU or the radeon one? Try changing the settings of both. Someone else will need to help you if it is an AMD driver problem.%%%

+1 for this bug.

It seems to be a new problem as I've used this particular install of Blender before on this laptop with Intel Integrated video with no problems.

I found out the source. If you set your 3D Settings in the Graphics Properties menu to "Performance" it will show blurry icons.

If you set it to "Balanced" it shows the proper icons.

Hope this helps. :)
