Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

Switching between actions deletes objects and/or is not possible/functional.

Long description of error
I encountered it when I wanted to create an action for keyframes and wanted to play just that action. The keyframes didn't show in the action editor but did show in the dopesheet and timeline. The action that was shown in the dopesheet wasn't selectable in the action editor.
Trying to reproduce this I found even stranger behavior:
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
BUG 1:
Starting from default
Adding a cube
Adding an action for cube 1 (I chose locrotscale but I don't think that matters)
creating action for cube 2
creating shape keys for cube 2
setting up key 1 to show a change
switching to the action for cube 2
setting keyframes for key 1 to show the change in an animation
playing the animation now works for both
following this depending on the actions of the user various things happen:
Variation 1:
switching to the action of cube 1 makes cube 2 copy cube 1's keyframes temporarily if anything gets touched it only plays it's normal action but is still in the position of cube 1's keyframe 1.
Variation2:
if no action is selected when the shape key keyframes are inserted they are nowhere to be found except in the dopesheet with an unselectable action named after the shape key.
Variation3:
If an action is selected, the keyframes of the shape key will not show up in the action editor and it will remove the user from that action sometimes temporarily and make it copy the other actions keyframes.
I have no overview about the diffrent kinds of behavior anymore. Sorry. I will be back later and research more.

This report is rather fuzzy (please avoid mixing issues, always attach .blend file to help reproducing it). However, I do not think there is any bug here so far.
FYI, shape actions have their own mode in DopeSheet, “Shape Key Editor"…
Ok I didn't know that.
I'd update it to make it more precise but I can't find the edit button?
Even though I created it I apparently am not the owner of the task.
