System Information
Ubuntu 14.04 x64 Intel integrated graphics card
Blender Version
Broken:
9e963ae
Blender crashes after selecting any object after going in fullscreen (both the Alt F11 option and the normal one)
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Select any object in the viewport and it's most likely to crash in the firt one you select, probably is due to the OS and not the software itself, but please check if it can be prevented of if there's any workaround.
I found an workaround and is to add a subdivision modifier on top of the object, (in this case I tested it on the startup scene on the Cube, since is already selected on startup and clicked Ctrl + 5 to apply the modifier), and it doesn't crash, but, put the modifier to 0 subdivs (with Ctrl + 0) and it crashed again when selecting it.

This sounds like GPU driver bug. Please specify your GPU & driver version.
Also, could you:
--factory-startup
commandline option).blender-softwaregl
distributed with official blender, will be slow, but will show whether this is a driver issue or not). The intel integrated graphics card is Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset
This crash seems to happen only when VBOs (Vertex Buffer Objects) option is enabled, tested it with --factory-startupand the normal way and it crashed when having enabled that option. On the other hand, when booting it withblender-softwaregl, that option was enabled by default on the start and it didn't crash when selecting any object. Hope it helps find the issue.

Unfortunately, it just shows what's expected from crappy intel 'GPUs' - their OpenGL drivers are full of bugs. We cannot do anything from our side, so you'll have to run without VBOs, and hope for a fix in next Intel's drivers version... Thanks for the report anyway.
