I read on console that is written a AppData\Local\Temp\SMDAngeliFacciataMulti003_nonManifoldPurged.crash.txt

but it only contains:

Blender 2.73 (sub 0), Commit date: 2015-01-20 18:16, Hash bbf09d9

backtrace

Cannot confirm that here. However, that mesh is huuuuge (2M tris), so it’s likely an issue with your selection method and GPU (HD4000 is a very low-end GPU, not suited at all to work on such big meshes).

Anyway, please:

  • Ensure both your OS and drivers are fully up-to-date.
  • Try to tweak OGL settings in UserPreferences, System tab (select method one in particular).
  • Attach here the report generated by Help -> System Info.
  • Try to place this dll next to your blender.exe (software OGL, will be slow, but will show whether this is a driver issue or not).

Checked, the mesh is valid, and no problems selecting here.

This is likely a driver error.

Archiving as OpenGL error, driver bugs we can't typically fix on our side and Intel doesn't have a public tracker.

One last thing - you could try use occlusion queries selection method in preferences.
