Objects duplicated by Duplifaces refuse to render #44054

System Information
OS: Manjaro Linux amd64, kernel 3.19.1
CPU: AMD Phenom II Deneb Quad-Core
GPU: GTX 650 Ti Boost, driver 346.47

Blender Version
Broken: 2.74 Release Candidate 2, hash 1f547c1

Short description of error
I set an object as a child to another mesh, and set the parent to use duplifaces. And although the duplicated objects appear just fine in the viewport, if I set the viewport to Rendered mode, or do a final render, the duplicated objects do not appear at all during the render. I've already confirmed that the obvious culprits (visibility, scene layers) are not to blame.

Rendering tested with cycles in CPU and GPU mode, and I tested with blender-softwaregl as well, same results. Problem also occurs when using Blender Internal. I also tested releases 2.73a and 2.72b, same issue.

Strangely, I've used duplifaces with other things, and had no trouble.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Open the following .blend file: ChildObjects_WontRender.blend
  2. Set the viewport to Rendered mode. The objects do not appear except outside the render boundaries.
  3. Run a final render. The objects still do not appear.

Please close this issue. I figured out the problem: at some point I had accidentally set Duplication:Faces on the child object.
