Using the new Multi-object editing function you can send a strip with a low value channel variable below zero. Sometimes this will crash Blender.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open VSE
Add 2 scene strips (or any strips)
place one above the other
select both, top strip 'last'
goto properties and ALT scrub the channel value down
the bottom strip disappears and cannot be scrubbed.
