CUDA out of Memory / Invalid value in ptr #46668

Hey Guys,

I just tried to render a scene on my PC with Cycles on the GPU when I get the error:

CUDA error: Out of memory in cuMemAlloc(&device_pointer, size)
Error: CUDA error: Invalid value in cuTexRefSetAddress(NULL, texref, cuda_device
_ptr(mem.device_pointer), size)

I don't realy know if it is related to my GPU mem or if it is a mem alloc error.

The .blen used is attached, so you can try it on your PC.

My actual Setup:
Blender 2.76 48f7dd6
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 3GHz
RAM: 4GB
GPU: NVidia GTX 460 SE 1GB VRAM
Win 7 Professional 64bit

Not a bug... you have a plane which is approximately 5 million triangles.

Reduce the area that needs to be subdivided and it will render easily.

1GB of VRAM is really not much for GPU Rendering, especially since some parts of it is already used by the OS and other programs.

Carlo you were right, it was the subdiv modifier, works with less subdivs.
