Smoke keeps both .bphys and .vdb cache files #47591

System Information
System: Windows 7 64bit
RAM: 4096 MB
renderer: 'GeForce GTX 760/PCIe/SSE2'
vendor: 'NVIDIA Corporation'
version: '4.5.0 NVIDIA 353.30'

Blender Version
Broken: blender 2.76.x (0b13989)
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
1. Smoke keeps both .bphys and .vdb cache files
When I bake a smoke simulation and choose either Point Cache or OpenVDB first,
or the other way around, it keeps both cache files on the disk.

In my opinion this is not what I as a user want. I made the choice and therefore
it should only be on chache file format on my disk.

Optional it could be a GUI toggle button for keep both formats, or something
linke that.

2. Cache files not deleted on Free Bake / Free All Bakes
The other point ist, the files are not deleted when I free the bake. Is this by design,
and if so why? Free Bake means I don't want it, and with a high probability I want
re-bake it.

Toggle option?

About 1., some improvements can be done here, I must admit, but I am not sure how and where removing old files should happen (I would guess in the RNA update), since the property is attached to the domain and not the point cache.

And 2. that's by design, the files are only removed if you free the bake and either change the simulation settings or close Blender..

I tested this as you described it, and the cache is only deleted, if I free the bake and close Blender and open the same file again. Whitout the last part, the cache remains on disk.

If both cache file types (.bphys and .vdb) are on the disk only the last in use gets deleted.
