Blender segmentation fault when Right-clicking on any object in 3d view. #47738

Short description of error
Blender closes with the error in the terminal window:
Writing: /tmp/blender.crash.txt
Segmentation fault

Does not happen in Blender 2.76b f337fea
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Right click on default cube in 3D view using the default startup file.

Crash file attached.

This is a pretty old issue, usually caused by GPU drivers. There's some troubleshooting info for selection issues in the manual that applies here as well (link ). Could you try this and report back if it works?

Not GPU, but changing the Selection setting to OpenGL Occlusion Queries seems to have fixed the issue.

You said it worked in 2.76b. Does the settings were different? Was "OpenGL Occlusion Queries" enabled in 2.76b?

In 2.76b it was set for Automatic, which worked in that version but not in RC2.

Yeah there were some changes in the drawing code, might be that your graphics drivers didn't like them ;)
