Most likely the .blend file is corrupted because the computer got shut down while it was being writing to disk.
There is usually a .blend1 file which you can open instead, this should have the previously saved version of the file. With File > Open there is a filter option to show these .blend1, .blend2, .. files.
Doesn't sound like a bug in Blender that we can fix, so closing.

I know this is a closed thread. But I would like to know if anything is being done so that this does not happen. I was not closing or saving my project but rendering when the power went out. I tried to open the file and the DNA block was missing also in my auto save. Thankfully, I had a back up. I have other Modeling software where if the power goes out my files do not get corrupted.
Thanks

this could be solved if at least two versions of autosave could be saved. OR, not to delete the previous autosave unless the new autosave is completed. many people already had this problem but seems like they are ignoring this. very diificult to reproduce this issue (as we dont know when the blender is autosaving). but when it happens usually when the power is cutoff when blender is autosaving. It's important as you can lost hours of work. it might not be bug though but some things should be done. it happened to me many times. i reported in other issue as well but they closed it saying its not bug.
