Rendered Viewport after Quick Smoke crashes Blender #52643

If the timeline indicator is on a frame other than 0, after applying the Quick Smoke setup if you immediately change the viewport to Rendered (via hotkey or pie menu) Blender crashes.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Move timeline indicator to frame 20 (or other).
Apply Quick Smoke to default cube.
Change viewport mode to Rendered.

At least on a GTX1080 with Cuda on Linux and latest master it does not happen. So probably it's more an issue with AMD Cards, OpenCL or OSX.

I can't reproduce the issue either.

(1) Did you run with --factory-startup? (I guess not since you mentioned pie menu)
(2) Does it work in 2.78?
(3) Is your crash with BI or Cycles?

@Stefan_Werner can you confirm this in the OSX? If so can you move to confirmed, otherwise move the report to Incomplete until we hear back from the author.

I'm unable to reproduce on macOS.

Can we get the macOS crash report? It should be in your home directory under Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports (by default, the Library folder is hidden on macOS).

I downloaded the latest RC2 and ran Blender straight from the unzipped folder and got the same results ...
I reset to Factory Settings and it's fine now — can't reproduce the problem.
