Win 10, GTX1080, i7-7700K 4.20Ghz
Blender 2.79, 2.78c, Cycles

See attached file. There are baked particles included. Hit render. There's a clear shadowy artifact across the mesh in Cycles render. The problem does not appear in Cycles preview.

The problem is gone when layer with particles is hidden. The problem is also gone when motion blur is turned off.

When I try to render on CPU, Blender crashes.

I confirm the bug happens on ubuntu 16.04, too. 2.79 and master 556b13f

Problem is not present with CPU rendering. It only occurs when GPU is involved.
It is more obvious with CPU+GPU.

It seems to be fixed in 2.80.

I can still see differences in GPU vs CPU tiles:

I can also confirm that the original problem seems to have already been solved. So I will close this report.
I see no difference in titles when rendering with OpenCL CPU + GPU, if this problem still exists it is already being dealt with in another report.

Graphics card: Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics ATI Technologies Inc. 4.5.13559 Core Profile Context 26.20.12028.2

I can still see differences in GPU vs CPU tiles CUDA 970m + Intel Core i7-6700

System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.3.12-200.fc30.x86_64-x86_64-with-fedora-30-Thirty 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 970M/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 440.44

if this problem still exists it is already being dealt with in another report.

which one?

@MarcinTwarowski : is this resolved for you?

In 2.83 I could not reproduce neither with GPU nor CPU.

@dfelinto: hm, this might be something different, but I am still seeing this:

GPU+CPU hybrid rendering

with object Cylinder.352 hidden

with object Cylinder.352 showing

Since this seems to solved for @MarcinTwarowski, I am unsure what I am seeing here...

@lichtwerk sounds like you have a separate issue. Can you create a separate report for it?

OK, will see if I can come up with something nice and simple to reproduce.
Closing this report then.
