System Information
Windows 10 enterprise, X299 7900x, GeForce 1080TI card. Nvidia drivers updated to latest version TODAY.
Blender Version
Blender 2.79 (sub 0)
Short description of error
New to blender. Downloaded version above, upon starting a transparent window appears with nothing in it, i.e., can see the border of the window, but the contents are that of the windows and desktop that were open at the time Blender was started. No menus or screens relevant to the blender program are visible. Updated Nvidia drivers to no avail. --factory-startup option does not help. Thanks

From the description it is possible to be a GPU driver issue.
blender.exe
and run Blender normally. If Blender starts it is related to a GPU driver.
Marking as Incomplete until the requested information/data is provided.

Thanks. With software OpenGL it works.
Any thoughts for fixing the issue with the GPU driver? I just reinstalled the driver and it has not helped. I am on the latest version of the driver for the 1080TI per NVIDIA's website. Other OpenGL applications seem to work fine.
Thanks
I'm not sure about what we can do with the driver itself apart from reporting it to Nvidia if the issue can be recreated by developers. There are some issues with Titan X Pascal cards too. #53179 (viewport / UI glitches).

Closing this since software OpenGL proves that it was a driver issue, and the fact that it has no activity for the past 7 days.
