The properties menu is now vertical... surely that's a bug?
When clicking between the different sections, sometimes the mode doesn't actually change.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Click quickly between different icons of the properties categories.

please ditch the vertical menu. which way are you reading this email? left to right? me too. Please return this list of icons to left to right.

This was changed in ab6c7ff2ab (and generally recieved positive feedback afaict, it has a number of advantages, see also discussion in #54951, D3840).

I cant seem to be able to reproduce the following:

When clicking between the different sections, sometimes the mode doesn't actually change

(there seems to be a tiny gap between the tabs [which are also indicated visually] -- are you hitting these? might be debatable if the hotspots should have these gaps as well... maybe @JulianEisel can comment on this...)

So in general I dont think this is a bug, no, but leaving open for the "issue" relating to the gap (@JulianEisel: feel free to close if this is on purpose...)

Just checking tasks assigned to me and noticing this.

The tab metaphor and the vertical layout both have advantages. E.g. we should avoid horizontal scrolling, these changes made scrolling unnecessary even. And in this case we have a stack like list that should be presented vertically.
Like said the changes received overwhelmingly positive responses (I expected much more controversy).
Either way, we can't allow bug reports for such kind of design requests. Doing so would not be manageable.

There wasn't any response on the "mode" supposedly not changing sometimes and this is the first report mentioning this since the design change was introduced. So I assume this was just caused by not hitting the tabs but the gap in-between.
Closing this task now.
