View angle snap does not work with Auto Perspective Setting #58361

Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: GTX1080Ti

Blender Version
Broken: 2.8 latest beta
Worked: probably never

Short description of error
When using angle snap feature of view orbit, when view is snapped perpendicular to any world axis, Auto Perspective feature should automatically switch view from perspective to orthographic, yet it does not.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
1, FIRST hold down the middle mouse button and start orbiting
2, THEN hold down alt key while orbiting to snap view to closest world axis

Result: The view remains perspective, despite Auto Perspective feature being turned on in the Settings.

Expected: The view gets switched to orthographic mode as soon as it aligns with the world axis if Auto Perspective feature is enabled.

@lichtwerk Why was this closed and merged with an old duplicate report which has also been closed. No one will EVER find this yet this is crucial design flaw that should be fixed before 2.8 final release. Right now it's in some ultra-obscure TODO list no one ever looks at :(
