Blender 2-80 startup AUDIO noise #58754
Operating system: Win10 Home
Graphics card: GTX1080
Short description of error
After startup - audio noise (OpenAL) from speakers & cannot save Audio Device change in preferences (every time after Blender start is OpenAL )
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
After startup of Blender I can here noise form my speakers until I change Audio Device from OpenAL to Null.
But second problem is that after changing to Null and Saving Preferences
I have the same problem ( Audio Device configuration change has not been saved ).
Does this happen in the official 2.79b release, and in the latest 2.79 master?
the noise happens in 2.79b also when OpenAL is enabled.
But in 2.79b when I change to None then config change is saved for good.
( Notice that in 2.79 empty device is called as None and in 2.80 as Null )
I have Blender 2.80 notice right after start about sampling freq problem (44.1kHz is not acceptable for OpenAL)
I would like to mention that in previous 2.80 (just before BETA) I had also problems with saving keymap change.
Even when I change sth and save Preferences unfortunately after Blender restart I should import keymap again.
(changes has not been saved ). Now keymap change saving in 2.80 works fine.
Sorry for the late reply, it's been a busy month, but now there are holidays :) The noise problem sounds weird, especially since you're the only windows user reporting it. Have you tried updating your drivers? Also have you tried SDL instead of OpenAL or None? Does saving the device settings work in the 2.80 beta?
