Edge slide clamping doesn't work with Blender 2.7 keymap #59049

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 64bit
Graphics card: Radeon RX Vega

Blender Version
Broken: 2.80 0fe5a78983

Short description of error
Trying to clamp some vertex/edge while sliding them using edge slide doesn't work properly. The tooltip says you can turn off clamping with either Alt or C, however using C doesn't seem to do anything at all for me. I tried using Alt to do it instead and while that actually works there's some problems with that as well as I can't confirm the slide with the leftclick (even though I can do that if I don't hold down Alt). I had to confirm my operation with enter instead, which really shouldn't be necessary.

On top of that the old behavior of having the clamping be a toggle instead of something you hold down seemed more intuitive and easier to use, but I know that's very subjective.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Add a default cube
Select one or more vertices
Start sliding the selection with GG
Turn off clamp with Alt or C
Try to confirm your operation with LMB
Observe the problems

Could you try the latest beta build and see if that fixes it?
I can not reproduce this issue on the build you have or the latest beta version.

Both C and Alt works for me and left click to confirm works too.

Perhaps you could try to do "Load Factory Settings" and see if that solves it?

I just tried this in the latest build and my slightly older 2.8 build and it works the same in both of them. It works exactly like I described above unless I restore factory settings, in that case it seems to work like it's described in the bottom bar and you'd expect. You were exactly right about the cause of the issue.

I'm using the Blender 2.7 keymap and right click select, I've attached my settings so hopefully you should be able to reproduce the problem.

@brecht what to do with configuration errors like these?

It's a bug in the Blender 2.7 keymap, so that needs to be fixed.
