System Information
Operating system: Mac OsX 10.13.6 High Sierra 64
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

Broken:
2.80, 1b6a394d86, blender2.8, 2018-12-03,
Worked: 2.79b

Crashing on try to select an object after alternate from Solid/LookDev/Rendered modes to Wireframe mode. Both Eevee and Cycles.

  1. Open the startUp file.
  2. Align the cube to grid (basically beginning to test today, G -> Z -> 1).
  3. Add a plane and scale it. (Shift-A -> Plane)
  4. Change mode to Wireframe (both on top menu and pressing Z)
  5. Try to select the cube with the plane selected or after deselect it (tested with left and right mouse buttons)
    And... CRASH.

I have tried several combinations and the following appeared to work...

  1. Open the startUp file.
  2. Change to Wireframe mode.
  3. Deselect the cube and select it again.
  4. Change to any other mode and back to wireframe and it worked.
  5. As long as the file stays opened it works.
  6. Than I saved the file as savedAfterBehavior2.blend (attached) and it works until I closed the file and reopened it.
  7. With or without the initial four steps, the reopened file appears to apply the bug to its core. Any change to Wireframe mode followed by an attempt to select, crashes 2.8.

I don't believe that the weakness of my graphic card matters here, in such a simple file and in wireframe mode.
That's my first Beta and respectfully try to collaborate.

Cordial thanks.
