System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 64x
Graphics card: GTX 1070

Blender Version
Broken: 2.8 d415b5c7b8

Open a new file.
Create a plane.
Leave it as it is and set the Viewport DIsplay to Display as Wire.

First, looks like it dissapeared. The grid seems to have priority.

If you change the view, you can see it there.

If you try to select it, the only way is through the origin. You can't select by clicking on the edges, and not even through box select.

If u do the same to a cube, u can easily select it.

And you will notice that if the plane is no longer selected (after you select the cube) it will be nearly impossible to select the plane again, now that the origin point is hidden. Even the box select won't work on the origin.

Problem confirmed on ubuntu 16.04 64 bits with 2.80 21523b5

It looks like problem is concerning edges of a boundary.
Delete a face on cube. It can't be selected by an edge delimiting the hole anymore.
But if you use box select on an other edge share on two faces : it works.

If you set Wireframe slider to 1 in Overlays settings : plane can be selected, now.

In the new assembly, the problem with wireframe objects was solved. It is still displayed incorrectly with the overlay turned off.

Good to know.
I can't reproduce the problem with either blender 2.80rc1 or current development versions of Blender.

The other issue mentioned is not related.
So I will close as resolved.
