Short description of error
I am attaching files to better illustrate problem cup_example.blend
When one window is set to rendered mode using cycles it is displayed ok, but changing it to edit mode completely messes out the look of materials instead of just adding the overlay lines.
It is also related to this bug/new behavior I have reported earlier https://developer.blender.org/T58252
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Load attached blend, change window on the right to rendered view, enter edit mode.

It seems that with a subsurf modifier in edit mode, Cycles has wrong normals.

In Cycles mode, when rendering a subsurf'ed mesh from Edit Mode, the Rendering is not correct.
In Eevee it's no problem.
In Workbench --> Blender 2.80 crashes
Test_prt.blend

This appears to be fixed now, after Sergey's latest depsgraph and mesh API changes.
