When switching the transform tools in the toolbar, there are times when you would still like to be able to box select while gizmos are active.

We can solve this by adding a Drag Action tool option to all the transform tools:

When set to Box Select, you can still drag in the viewport to select, while using the gizmo to move, rotate or scale.

Details:

imo, It would be convenient to be able to Select AND use the Transform tools at the same time with the toolbar buttons.

Currently, to perform this task, the user has to use the B hotkey while the Move Transorm tool is enabled. If the user wants to only use the toolbar for this task, he/she shouldn't be forced to use the B hotkey.
Allowing to use Select + Move + Rotate (and even Scale if the user wants to, or any of the three Transform tools) just by pressing the toolbar buttons (toggling these functions) would be pretty user-friendly.
