Operating system: macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G7024)
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6750M OpenGL Engine ATI Technologies Inc. 4.1 ATI-1.68.22
Computer: iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011), 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

Short description of error
When I try to bake indirect lighting for EEVEE onto an irradiance volume, everything within this volume turns black.Screen Shot 2019-06-03 at 6.27.51 PM.png

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Create a new blend file, add a plane and a shpere (a light and camera defaults).
  • Assign Principled shader materials (all defaults).
  • Enclose the sphere and a part of the plane into an irradiance volume.
  • Set render to EEVEE and bake indirect lighting.

Baking the light produces absolutely black color. The same relates to the reflection cubemap.

Tried to follow a few tutorials and tested other settings to no avail. I think it’s a problem with an AMD graphics card support. A simple .blend file is attached. Will provide more details if needed.no-indirect-lighting.blend

Please try the latest build, there were recent fixes in light baking.

I can't test it right now, will do it in two weeks with the latest build. This strange issue has always been on my computer (provided the system details in the task). Not sure if it's an AMD graphics or macOS High Sierra peculiarities. Thanks for testing it though!

HI, I am on the same mac and am having exactly the same problem with latest build, it only happens when I try to bake the irradiance Volume, get the same result as described above.

I think your node "image texture" on which you are trying to bake the texture is already connected to your material output, bake your lightning first with yout material connected to your material output, then connect your image texture to your material output, I had the same issue and it worked
