About assigning objects to Collection.

In 2.80, objects can be assigned to any Collection of course.

And they can be assigned to "multiple" Collections too. But it can be done only in python script.(right? if not forget all of this)

I setup sample .blend file.

After RunScript, Camera, Cube.001, Cube.002, Lamp will also be assigned to "Collection 2".

This is almost perfectly the same as 2.7x layer feature. But it seems to be there is no way to do this on GUI.

(if this is right) some features are necessary to do this. Here are some ideas.

  1. Ctrl + L

adding the feature to "link" menu. but user may do this many times.

  1. Ctrl + Shift + dragging

In Outliner, user can easily assign to other Collection without moving; means assigning to multiple Collections.

  1. Ctrl + M, and dragging

As same as 2.7x, user can assign to multiple Collections by continuously. It seems very handy way and looks smart.

Thanks

You can drag items to other Collections. If you hold Ctrl, it will be in both.

I've heard another way to do this in twitter.
