i can confirm, test file make blender crash on linux Blender 2.81 3142ae19d2 AMD FX8350, 16GB DDR3, GTX690 2+2 GB VRam- Nvidia drivers 435.21. No crash if LoadUI is disabled in browse file or close 2nd blender window before entering in edit mode

Can confirm the crash here with a debug build with ASAN, having a read-after-free error in draw code, @fclem afraid that’s another one for you? Or maybe @Jeroen-Bakker can also have a look at it?

Hiding UV editor saves blender from crash

First I'm on Windows 10.
For me it seems the mesh is somewhat broken. It crashes randomly and often as soon as I go in edit mode, and it does it just in this case, when the uv-editor is open on a second window(screen). If I have the uv- editor open in just one window together with the 3d-view, it doesn't crash.
And if I convert it into a mesh again, it stops also crashing with second window and uv-editor open...
