Optimal display not working in sculpt mode whit the multiresolution modifier. #70318

Short description of error
When you want to see the wireframe in sculpt mode and you activate the optimal display in the multiresolution modifier, all the wireframe is shown.
It works fine in object mode, where it only shows the real topology and not the subdivided one.
This problem does not occur with the subdivision modifier.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. In a object with multirresolution modifier enable, go to the object properties and activate wireframe in the viewport display slot.
  2. go to sculpt mode and activate de optimal display in the multirresolution modifier.
  3. compare it with object mode.

Same option works for Subdivision modifier in sculpt mode. Can't this be TODO or DESIGN? I'm ok to keep this report as closed.

I think it's relatively low priority, not worth making a task for now.
