Short description of error
When the Knife tool is active, before starting cutting, the tool does not snap to points or edges. Although the snapping works, if you activate the tool using the K key.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
In Edit Mode activate Knife Tool on T-panel. Start cutting from some point. Snapping doesn't work.

Currently tools don't have a convenient way to snap before they're activated.

I ran into this this issue with D6678: Add Object Tool (WIP) too.
