Blender crashes on every attempt to modify shader nodes.

~~Open the materials on subject "Body.002"/ "Clich Object collection" Results in crash. ~~ Simply open material properties and wait for it to hang and then crash. Doesn't happen if render engine is cycles.

I have tried removing the shader nodes to a regular BDSF but every time I try, it crashes again.

I have tried using all factory settings and everything else seems to work fine, right up until I try to select or change materials.

I can confirm this on a Mac as well (version: 2.83 (sub 4), branch: master, commit date: 2020-02-23 23:00, hash: abb7364912), clicking material properties crashes Blender within 1-3 seconds. It does not happen anymore if you change from eevee to cycles, open the material properties and then change back to eevee, then you can open the material properties without a crash.

some observations,

some observations, - [twitter ehader test-2.blend](https://archive.blender.org/developer/F8383828/twitter_ehader_test-2.blend) in this file, material properties panel is open, but preview inside is closed. when you open it (expand it), the hang occurs. - after some updates to 2.83, the new trace is: http://hastebin.com/ulaqovuzun.shell see thread 19, #10. - visit https://blender.chat/channel/everyzone for more logs & comments by Germano. `680b70f` was being used for this.

  • @lichtwerk yes I just tried that, open twitter ehader test-2.blend expand "preview" in "material properties" & it hangs, twice, & then lldb. ed29ff944a here. system info & debug state is in the hastebin links in the channel everyzone.
  • GPU in this report is not intel, and Wouter also has a dedicated radeon GPU, reading their post history.
    • Do I file a new bug report? though I'd have no idea about the file contents. All I can do is expand preview & report whether crash happens or not.

Yes I have a radeon pro 5500M and an Intel UHD Graphics 630, with dynamic graphics switching enabling the radeon pro when running blender.
