strange characters #74228

Blender Version
Broken: 2.83, a322b43e3d
Worked: 2.83, abb7364912

As you can see in the attached screenshot, most of the characters and numbers are represented by strange hatching. And not only in shader mode, but in almost every area - even the "recent files" in the splashscreen.

I can see that some characters are ok, but others are different.
Probably glTexSubImage2D is different in some implementations. (This is bad)

That's confusing!
After I changed the widget Label Textsize from 11 to 12 (to anything but 11 will do), as mentioned in #74246, the problem was fixed. And not only that: After saving the preferences and restarting Blender I could even reset the size to 11 and even then everything was fine.
So overwriting the preferences was the solution for me !
