Short description of error
on newer Blender than dailybuild on Mar 03 2020 filebrowser thumbnail not show preview images/movies

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
with default setting, open Blender, select cube and go to Shader workspace, add texture node and open for new image, with file browser display as thumbnail images or videos preview are not showed untill file browser window is resized

@ronsn I don't think so, you are one triagers dev? I can not see the flickering of the preview image, these are fixed icons up to when I'm not resizing the file browser window to show 1 column. This works well in a Blender dailybuild up to Mar 03 2020

I can confirm this. No thumbnails until I change the size of the file browser so much that the thumbnails are being rearranged. But even it seems to be random. I even had them disappear again after they showed up. Happens in recent master bc6bbe5fac , but also in a build from last Thursday: cd0a6ff5c4

@dark999 Can you take a look at your CPU usage when opening a folder with images in the file browser but not resizing it? What does it say?

The issue in #74529 is the same as here, but plus flickering and a huge amount of CPU usage.

Indeed, once file browser is open in thumbnail view, CPU spikes to almost 100%.
