Operating system: MacOS Catalina 10.15.4 (19E287)
Graphics card: AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB

Broken: 2.83 beta (2020-04-26)

Short description of error
When opening a file in a fullscreen mode, Blender window turns black. Blender is still running (in 2.82a this would crash the app), and stuff can be saved without any problem. Sometimes after such error happens when I quit the app, system reports an error. However, this does not happen regularly.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Run Blender, switch to a full-screen mode
Open a file through a file view.
The file view window goes full-screen as well
Select a file and open it
The file opens, the file browser window closes and return back to the main blender window, however it is now completely black
Blender is still running. Operations like saving and quitting work without any problem.
If I have another window open, that window stays unaffected.
This error does not occure when Blender is not running in fullscreen mode or if the file is open through other than file browser method.
It also happen when file is not open, just the file browser window is closed.

This has already been reported in #74101.

Workaround (if you work in fullscreen): set the Preferences > Interface > Temporary Windows > File Browser to "Full Screen".
This will not create a new window for the file browser, but will change screen layout.

Step to reproduce:

File > Open
switch File Browser window to fullscreen mode
close File Browser and you will get Blender without any window

This is caused by the fact that the File Browser is a child (modal) window,
and when you turn the child window to fullscreen mode it destroys the parent window.

There is also #69819.

This has already been reported in #74101. Workaround (if you work in fullscreen): set the Preferences > Interface > Temporary Windows > File Browser to "Full Screen".
