hide the status bar

Could you clarify that ? Which one, or how to hide it?

@ankitm uncheck "Show Status Bar" in Window menu.

There should also show the progress bar when the status bar is hidden, but this does not happen.
And this only happens when you configure the "Render in" > "New Window" (as it is by default).

I'm personally unable to reproduce with Blender 2.83 on Linux with a GTX 1050Ti 440.82. Potentially a Mac OS thing?

I hid the status bar & hit f12. I see this temporarily, before render finishes & I get a new window.

I tested 1d72fc5a1a & df14b11526 (this is old)

@jenkm, you forgot to include information about a version of Blender that works.
Did you try 2.82?

It seems to depend on the screen resolution and there is no bug at low resolution.
I tried to set the "UI Scale" to 0.5, the bug disappeared.

It's the same bug that I reported more than a month ago: https://developer.blender.org/T91006
In my case, it happens when invoking a new window (like file browser or preference window) AND also when report warning messages appear at the top because the the status bar is hidden. oddly enough, these cases change depending on which version (2.93 or 3.0), but it's from 2.93 that this happened, as I always work with the status bar hidden and in 2.92 this wasn't happening.

This report states this happens in all 2.80+ versions. I am not able to reproduce though. In .293 I saw progressbar flash briefly, though so I assume this will be same issue, so will merge.

I am not able to reproduce in both cases.
