2.83.0 Default cube and background frequently render purple with intel uhd graphics 620 on win 10 #77494

System Information
Operating system: win10
Graphics card: Intel uhd graphics 620

Blender Version
Broken: 2.83.0 downloaded June 5
Worked: 2.83 downloaded a few weeks ago

Short description of error
The renders are( almost always) correct the first time I press f12, when rendering again the object, the background or both are purple. This happens also just after opening blender and rendering the default cube.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I open blender based on the default startup, then either

a) I click on the material icon, there is "Material" displayed with the little grey shpere before it. So far ok. As soon as I hover over the base color field or click on it, the small sphere in front of "Material" turns purple. Same if I open the shading tab and try to change the color there. Or

b) I just open blender and render the default cube. It renders ok, but the small sphere for the default material turns purple and subsequent renders will be purple. Sometimes just the cube sometimes the background too.

c) if I open blender and just try to change the world bg color, it doesn´t change in the render: either a) it stays grey or b) it renders purple, together with the default cube which I haven´t even touched.

PS: 2.90.0-b74cc23dc478-windows64 crashes as soon as I open blender and just hit f12, or when I hit the material icon

in 2.90 folder, please run blender_debug_gpu.cmd and upload the two files it mentions & one mentioned at the end of crash log. (total 3)

blender_debug_output.txt

blender_system_info.txt

I suppose the crash log is this file: C:\Users\zapata\AppData\Local\Temp\quit.blend as at the end of blender_debug_output quit.blend

I noticed that apparently, the problem exists only in Eevee, in Cycles, this problem didn´t show up , I repeatedly got a correct render result.
In Eevee the first render is correct (as long as I haven´t touched any material), regardless of if I touch the material button or not, the second render is purple, sometimes only the default cube. In this case, the third render would be all purple. However blender 2.83.0 does not crash.

For blender 2.90:

blender_debug_output.txt

blender_system_info.txt

blender.crash.txt this blender.crash.txt file says at the end "0x00007FF9B2720000 26.20.100.6859 igdfcl64.dll " . Do you need this file too and if so, where con I find it?

I checked 2.90 with cycles: As in 2.83, the problem doesn´t exist. If I change the renderer to cycles right after opening blender, I can use the materials (at least plain colors). The difference between 2.83 and 2.90 is that with Eevee 2.83 doesn´t crash , instead it begins to render purple. 2.90 with Eevee crashes as soon as I try to use materials.

Ah no, blender.crash.txt was required, which you provided. That is written only in blender 2.90 & only after there's an Exception_Access_violation.

Please retry after updating the GPU drivers https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29616/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers?product=126789
you're at 26.20.xxx , as written in system info. The latest ones are 27.20.xxxx. The debug_output & crash.txt all point to gpu errors .

I have tried to install the driver downloaded from Intel. Unfortunately, it is not authorized for Dell Products and setup exited. I have contacted Dell Support and will update here, when I get an answer (I workday, they say)

You can first try dell's driver update , if there's any, in the meantime

There isn´t. The Dell tech department is a mess. They suggested to update bios and reinstall v26 again, in case that wouldn´t work, I should reinstall windows...??? After clarifying this issue for hours on the phone, they decided to "repair" the lap, i.e. change the graphics card (within 12 working days, grrrr). I wonder if they will just work on a new Dell driver in the meanwhile...
Anyways, I will update this ticket as soon as I have news.
