Worked: no idea about Linux version, but no issues in the official Windows release
Short description of error
Blender crashes when muting 2 connected nodes in the compositor. This happens with certain types of nodes combined.
There needs to be an active Viewer output node and Backdrop enabled.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

This should result in a crash.

I can reproduce this crash in Blender 2.82a, 2.83.0, and 2.90.0

(2020-06-18 19:05).However, testing with 2.90.0

(2020-06-21 14:55) fixes it for me. @SachaGoedegebure are you able to confirm this? Are you able to test 2.90 downloaded from here: https://builder.blender.org/download/Added subscriber: @Jeroen-Bakker

@Alaska, thx! I merged this issue as duplicate of the original issue.
@Alaska - Sorry, only managed to test it yesterday.
Confirmed, latest 2.9 the issue is gone.
However, the official Linux 2.83.1 release the issue is still there.
@SachaGoedegebure According to #77348 the patch didn't make it into Blender 2.83.1. It will probably make it into 2.83.2 or 2.83.3. Just needs some more testing before calling it stable and putting it in 2.83 from what I understand.
