System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.3.0-61-generic-x86_64-with-debian-buster-sid 64 Bits
Graphics card: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Haswell Mobile Intel Open Source Technology Center 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 20.0.0-devel - padoka PPA

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.90.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-06-28 15:13, hash: b21ba5e579
Oldest 290 version I have is:
version: 2.90.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-06-12 13:39, hash: 9cc0597556, type: Release
build date: 2020-06-12, 13:41:27
This version is the same

Short description of error
When adding an object with the Add Object tool, the size value in the redo panel is incorrect for all object types
The Transform panel shows the correct dimensions

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Enable Add Cube tool (can be sphere or cone too).
  • Add a Cube with the tool.
  • Expand the Add Object dialog (default is 2 m)

Given that the user actively defines the size of a new object during creation - are dimensions in the Add Object dialog necessary if it's already shown and editable in Transform > Dimensions?

Could the dimensions be shown "Live" during object creation in the Transform > Dimensions dialog or the object bounding box be shown overlay style with dimensions (in object and edit mode)?

A more useful feature in the Add object dialog would be "step size" for object creation to force object size in increments of so many units

@Stretch, I suppose this tool is still work in progress.

@ideasman42, I'm not sure why #57210 was already closed as resolved.
The description in 122cb1aea8 mentions that only part of it has been resolved.
So, in my opinion it's still WIP, no?

Thanks for clarification.

I think this is tenchnicaly a bug and I don't see it acknowledged anywhere, so I will confirm it.
