I can't reproduce this with a build from today.

Is this still an issue for you with the latest build?

  • Could you check again in todays build?
  • Does this happen with Factory Defaults as well?
  • Did GPU drivers change?
  • Could you run blender_debug_log.cmd (should produce blender_debug_output.txt) and paste that here?

I have a crash in these builds most of the time. Once in a while it opens:

2.90.0 Beta, branch: master, commit date: 2020-07-30 17:19, hash: f45f8a7a89
2.91.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-08-02 20:10, hash: 396d0b5cd0

In this build it opens always:

2.90.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-07-12 09:05, hash: f319eec881

But sometimes with a glitch:

Another build:

2.90.0 Beta, branch: master, commit date: 2020-08-04 21:33, hash: 3ebe97c06b

obraz.png
Another build:

2.91.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-08-04 21:34, hash: deb76548c1

That build works best. I opened and closed the file multiple times (as well as blender itself) and there were no glitches or crashes. Eventually however it opened incorrectly:

It also crashed once.
It's the same problem as: #79228 , #79419, #77910

With newest 2.91 build? I still have errors, just not every time. Could you test it some more? Open the file, close Blender, open again etc. ?

I haven't experienced crashes or glitches so far in today's build 2.91.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-08-05 06:48, hash: 7088422283.
But I did have those issues in multiple files in yesterday's and older builds. I was waiting for exact ways to reproduce before reporting.
Sometimes, when I open a file, I see it is corrupted, I freak out, I reopen blender and the issue is gone.
I'll update when I have issues in the new build.

Thx @MarcinTwarowski keeping an eye on the duplicate reports.
Since #77910 (Sometimes the Viewport is damaged.) is the oldest (and @fclem is already involved there), lets keep that report as the central place to investigate this further (so will merge these reports -- so in case the issue comes up again, please continue discussion in #77910)
