, master, 2020-09-23Blender seems to crash ever since version 2.80 up to 2.90.1 (latest tested) every time I open the Shading tab (independently of what project is open
Won't be attaching any .blend files as I feel it's unnecessary, seen as it crashes even with a new project.
Here is the debug info from the cmd
And here is the crash file
blender.crash.txt

Just a stab in the dark: are GPU drivers up-to-date? (you havent mentioned which driver version you are using)
Hey, sorry for the late response
When I posted that, I was using out-of-date drivers (specifically 20.4.1), but I've now updated to 20.9.0 and the issue persists.
20.10.1 is out though, but it seems to be a Beta release, so knowing AMD's skills, I wouldn't trust them that much :/
Should I maybe upload my current settings? Maybe there's some unreported conflict with those that leads to the crash?

Also please check if this issue exists in latest build from https://builder.blender.org/download/
Yup, still crashes on the beta version as well...
Blender settings seem to be unique for every version so I'm not gonna bother sending ever single one as most are default so it's very likely to not be a settings conflict in my system
Thanks for update.
Can you upload
.crash.txt
file created with beta version? I would assume that backtrace will be random, But with same backtrace there may be clue. Also please check if crash happens when you try to load image and change file browser view to show icons.
I launched blender with the console with the debug and debug-gpu args and this is the output I got
As for the crash file, here it is
blender.crash.txt
Did you check "Also please check if crash happens when you try to load image and change file browser view to show icons." ?
To me it looks that this crash could be reproduced with file browser only.
Oh yeah sorry, I forgot about that.
Truth is, I'm still very new to blender, so I don't really know what you mean by that.
If you mean opening an "Image Editor" tab, and opening an image there, it works just fine, as illustrated below (also the imported image is pretty high res (6000x4000), so there's that

Thanks for checking.
So this doesn't look like be caused by filebrowser. Unfortunately I can't reproduce this to confirm, but I would recommend to at least try 20.10.1 GPU drivers, worst case you can revert, in better case this issue may be resolved by that action. I have never seen similar or same report with 5700 model though.
Not sure if this is related? https://community.amd.com/thread/245998
I don't think so, I get those warnings too.

@franciscofadigas , problem still continues for you on 21.5.2 version?
can you check again with recent builds? (https://www.blender.org/download/)
I can not reproduce this on windows so can't say more about this issue.
