Blender Version
Broken: Blender 2.92.0 Alpha - November 12, 10:10:02- bc090387ac - macOS 64 bit
and blender-2.91.0-b99faa0f567f-macOS
Worked: (blender-2.90.1-macOS)

Short description of error
Drawing with the Grease pencil near objects sketches out and glitches through the object geometry and randomly offsets from the curser point when using a 3D cursor as the stroke placement and View as the drawing plane. The simple step by step video attached below best explains it. Note: this is not the case when starting the file in 2D Animation mode only when adding a grease pencil to a general 3D scene. Also, This problem did not exist with version 2.90.1

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
See the short video and blender files of the easiest set up to show the bug.

I can reproduce occlusion that doesn't seem to be working correctly. broken between 940ef1a4e8 and 2c317457cb. But not strokes changing position.

Does this happen when you draw with mouse?

Hi Richard,

I have both a mouse and tablet and I just checked and both of them are causing the problem. To get the stroke offset try rotating the view a bit here and there and even place the 3d curser on the complete other side of the plane then go around that side and scribble around a bunch and it should happen eventually. I thought it might be because I did not assign a material to the Grease Pencil but I went in and applied one and it was still buggy. It works fine if there is not an object nearby/in the background. it is like it is fighting between the angle of the 3D cursor and the VIew. Also, would you be able to look at the video here 2020-11-12 20-38-11.mp4 of another problem I am having and let me know if you recognize it as a bug? I can not thank you and the other people working on this amazing tool being made available to all. So RAD!!!!! Thank you.

The weird offset masking in the video above is in blender-2.90.1-macOS if it isn't an issue already solved I can see if it happens in the latest builds also I can make a separate bug report for it too. Just let me know. :) thanks again.

I'm not sure what's going on.
But I can confirm that the occlusion of the stokes in the attached files is very strange. Especially the second file.
So I believe it is a bug.
Thanks for the report. I'm confirming.

Hi Germano, Glad I could help. Also, I just tested the related issue in the close-up video above wherein my scene I have three separate grease pencil objects layered near each other and next to a plane and the strokes from the closest GP layer to the camera cast an offset occlusion/mask on the layers below. That issue is present in all three builds:
2.92.0 bc090387ac - macOS 64 bit
2.91.0-b99faa0f567f-macOS
and: 2.90.1-macOS)

I have attached another file here to show the related issue described above:Two Grease Pencil Layers near plane.blend
I also wanted to check if there was an issue if starting in 2D animation workspace and I only added one plane and used just the GP layer and it previewed funny as seen here in the file.Similar issue when file created in 2D animation mode.blend
